Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products designs and manufactures high quality L handles for industrial original equipment manufacturers. An L handle is one of the simplest types of latches available, and L handles are specified for a wide range of applications, including electronic and HVAC equipment enclosures, sheds and trucks/trailers.
As the L handle is turned, a cam attached to the inside of the handle rotates from a locked to an unlocked position. Some L handles are limited to a 90 degree (quarter turn) rotation, while others allow 360 degrees of rotation.
SPEP manufactures many different sized handles, with different shaft lengths and diameters, as well as different types of mounts (e.g., blind or, front-mounted). We also make inside-release handles, including red plastic covered emergency handles, for large enclosures that may require an operator to enter and exit.
We make L handles in black plastic, steel, stainless steel, 304 SS, and 316 SS. Finishes include brushed zinc-plated, chrome-plated, blue zinc-plated, electro-polished, brushed, passivated, and dull chrome, to coordinate with your product design.
Some SPEP L handles are sold with key locks and some are padlockable. To fit the L handles, we offer black plastic or white nylon roller cams, as well as zinc-plated die cast cams in various lengths, with set screws or cover plates. Some of our L handles come with poron gaskets and/or with Keps nuts for convenient assembly.
Sierra Pacific employs a team of innovative engineers not only to design, build, and produce our hardware, but also to constantly improve our existing designs. If your OEM product requires a modified or completely new L handle design, contact our engineering department with your requirements.
