Slam latches are designed so that when a door or drawer is slammed shut, a spring inside automatically retracts the latch and then engages the keeper. Because no handle is required, slam latches are fast and easy to use, making them a great choice for enclosures that need quick access.
Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products manufactures rugged, industrial quality latches that can withstand repeated slamming action. This makes our heavy duty slam latches ideal for entry and storage doors on buses, RVs, trucks and trailers; for electronic and HVAC enclosures; on sheds and spray booths; and in marine applications.
Our engineers have developed latches to fit a variety of enclosures, accommodating wall thicknesses from 0.04 in. to 0.875 in. We make an engine door latch with plastic catch, as well as strike, rotary, push button, explosion venting, tipper, flush-mount, cab, divider, gate, finger pull, and slide bar slam latches. Some of these include a release handle or nylon pull ring.
SPEP manufactures slam latches in steel, stainless steel, thermoplastic and die-cast zinc. Other product options include locking or non-locking mechanisms and finishes in mill, zinc-plated, passivated, electropolished, and black or off-white plastic.
At SPEP we take great pride in the quality of our slam latches. Our design team has more than 50 patents, some of which are the products of their collaboration with other companies in designing custom hardware. If none of our extensive slam latch product line meets your exact requirements, we can help modify an existing design or develop a new one.
SPEP’s warehouses and shop floors are completely automated and all orders received are quickly updated into our ERP system, enabling easy tracking. Our ISO 9001 certification proves our commitment to quality, and our company is 100% employee-owned, so each one stands behind our products. Contact a SPEP representative to place a custom order.
