Eyebolts are simple and effective pieces of hardware that create an attachment point for a rope or cable to a larger piece of equipment, such as an RV, trailer, or electronic enclosure.
The two distinct parts of an eyebolt are the eye — a circular metal loop to which the rope or cable is tied or through which it will pass — and the shank, a threaded fastener which anchors the eye to a solid base. A “shoulder” may extend below the eye to the top of the shank, providing a larger, flat surface which creates more stability on the face of the mounting item. The shoulder helps the eyebolt support angular loads caused by tension on the rope or cable.
Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products manufactures eyebolts for every industrial application. We make stainless steel eyebolts in both 316 stainless steel and steel, in zinc-plated, electro-polished, or mill finishes. Our large diameter eye bolts come with inner opening diameters in the range of 0.25" to 2.0", with shanks from 1.0" to 4.0" in length, in order to fit your specific requirements.
If none of the steel and stainless steel eyebolts in our catalog meets your exact specifications, contact us for assistance in modifying one of our designs or creating a new one. Our top-notch engineering staff uses SolidWorks 3D modeling software, with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capability, in order to predict with accuracy how a product will function under real-world conditions.
