Continuous hinges get their name from the fact that they are usually used on the entire length of whatever they are being mounted to. This enables the hinge to be relatively thin in material thickness and width. This is because the load that is bared by both the hinge and mounting material is distributed over a larger area. In applications where the hinge must be compact and as unobtrusive as possible continuous hinges work extremely well. This is why these hinges are usually used on pianos and also known as "piano hinges".

Our hinges can be made from 316 Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel with material thicknesses from ranging .025" to .180". Our high quality 316L stainless steel and stainless steel hinges are great for applications where regular steel parts would be susceptible to corrosion. An aluminium continuous hinge will also be great at preventing corrosion and it will weigh 1/3 less. Multiple finishes are also available including galvanized, mill, polished as well as several plating options including brass, chrome, nickel and zinc.
