Multipoint or 3-point latches made by Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products serve as the locking and opening mechanisms for large doors or cabinets. These latches are used widely in the trailer door industry as well as for electronic enclosures, which require multipoint locks to meet NEMA standards.
The basic design of a multipoint latch consists of a central handle with two long bars that will attach to a door. The bars engage keepers that are attached to the enclosure. A rotating mechanism connected to the handle moves the bars in or out of the keepers as the handle is turned, allowing all points on the door to be locked or unlocked with a single motion.
Multipoint latches help ensure that tall doors will not warp, and they maintain weather tightness and improve security.
What makes these latches a great solution for many enclosures is that they are by design very strong. Our 3 point latch systems come in medium duty or heavy duty construction. They include either solid rods or hollow tubing, which minimizes weight while maximizing strength.
Our multipoint latches come in a variety of sizes, in order to fit a range of situations. We offer cam action barlock kits, welded assemblies or individual components, including rods and rod guides, fixed and roller cams, pivot hinges, keepers, lock handles, and pipe holders.
